Friday Oct 30 2009 comments Streetwise: Placer vs. Lincoln prediction -A +A Carol Feineman became editor of the Lincoln News Messenger in November, 2008. She most recently was an editor at The Examiner in San Francisco. From January, 2005 to August, 2007, Carol was editor of Lincoln's sister paper, the Colfax Record, where she learned how important it is to make the local newspaper accessible to as many residents as possible. Carol also worked at the Union newspaper in Grass Valley for seven-plus years as the arts and entertainment editor. After graduating from the University of Florida with a journalism degree and a minor in political science, Carol honed her skills at newspapers in her home state. Working at a paper that focuses on local residents is the main reason Carol moved back here from San Francisco. Please call her at 774-7972, e-mail her at email@example.com or visit her at 553 F St. so the Lincoln News Messenger can work closely with the community. Spencer Short Mayor of LincolnI am proud of our guys. It's going to be the Zebras. They are going to win this one. They are playing like champs, but so is Placer. It is going to be very entertaining to watch. Lincoln 27, Placer 21. Mike Holmes, Mayor of AuburnPlacer. Both teams are on a roll, but it's going to be Placer. I'm going to ask Joey (Montoya) to not run up the score too much. We have friends in Lincoln. I don't want to embarrass them. I have relatives buried there. Placer 42, Lincoln 33. Deric Rothe, Auburn Journal senior editor/general managerPlacer is going to win a tough game. The Lincoln community is rightfully proud of the Zebras' 7-0 start, but Placer has too many weapons and is very well coached. The Zebras are a good team, but they are going to fall to the mighty Hillmen at LeFebvre stadium. Placer 35, Lincoln 21.
