This afternoon Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 Lincoln Fire and Police responded to a residential structure fire on Eighth Street. More details as available.
At 2:01 PM the Lincoln Fire Department responded
to reports of a residential structure fire in the 200 Block of 8th Street. Units arrived to find
the residence well involved in fire. Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were out and
performed an aggressive interior attack, halting the spread of the fire. Firefighters then
performed salvage and overhaul operations to preserve the resident’s belongings and to
confirm that the fire was extinguished. A board up company responded to secure the
residence and American Red Cross provided services to the displaced occupants.
Units from Placer County Fire, Rocklin Fire, American Medical Response and the
Lincoln Police Department assisted with the incident as well. The cause of the fire is
undetermined at this time and not believed to be suspicious in nature. The damage to the
structure is estimated at approximately $100,000 to $150,000. There were no injuries as a
result of the fire.
