Market not just for eating By: Michael Kirby / News Messenger -A +A Lincoln resident Becky Childers picks up some sweet peas Thursday night at the Lincoln Farmers Market. A wide variety of in-season fresh produce was available. Nicole Salle, left, and Connie Isdell were busy keeping up with demand for their produce at Thursday?s Farmers? Market. ?I?m the farmer?s daughter so I do at least seven markets a week, sometimes back to back,? Salle said. Salle works in her family?s produce business, Salle Orchards of Wheatland. The local growers are at about 17 markets a week throughout the valley. Singer and guitarist Michael Sisemore belts out a Johnny Cash tune. Sisemore is a member of the Lincoln Highway band that set up in Beermans Plaza entertaining market goers. 3042 Bobbie Brown of Lincoln buys a loaf of fresh baked bread from Alice Shreve of The Baker and The Cake Maker of Auburn. Sweethearts Nina Applegate and Tom Palazzi took to the dance floor moving to the music of Lincoln Highway. Carson Hagar, of Lincoln wasted little time getting some fresh bread and making a meal of it. Carson was at the market with his brother and sisters, Emma, Parker, and Cooper. Cherries and nectarines were abundant as were many seasonal fruits and vegetables. Loafs of fresh baked bread was available from several vendors.
