The class takes place in the beautiful indoor heated pool in the Orchard Creek Lodge two days a week. ?We meet on Tuesday and Thursday?s at 11:30am, we focus on range of motion, cardio, strength, and balance,? said Barnett. Cheri Rinn walks laps in the pool a couple times a week. ?I had a knee replacement recently and water walk to strengthen my leg muscles,? Rinn said. This lively group of ladies was involved in a game of rummy cubes on a recent morning. The room was filled with groups playing games, socializing and just having plain old fun laughing and talking. (L-R) Dixie Edwards, Jenny Mallett, Bette Ahrens, and Sue Armstrong get together once a week playing board and card games. ?This is an active adult community, we get together for about three hours each week and have a lot of fun,? said Ahrens. Foam water sticks, pictured here, foam weights and kick boards await use by members working in swim classes. June Preader is new to Lincoln Hills but wasted little time getting a workout program. Using state of the art work-out machines in the Orchard Creek Lodge gym a couple of times a week, Preader does her best to stay in shape. ?When you retire, it?s easy to sit around in a community like this; you still need to work on your health. I love this facility, I try to come three times a week, working my lower body one session and my upper body the next,? said Preader. Mike Novosel works on a ceramic koi fish during Jim Alvis? Tuesday morning ceramic class. The koi will have water pumped through it that will flow out its mouth for use in a pond. ?I like art work and have never taken a ceramics class before. I come once a week to class and sometimes to the open lab on weekends,? said Novosel.
