Zebras ramp up for new league play

Lest fans forget, there is more to this season than football.

Tennis

Although Antelope eked out a 4-5 victory, Lincoln winners were Dakotah Behrendt 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, Citaly Lazron 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, Gabrielle Camba 6-3, 6-4, and Allison Adair and Mary Bordisso 6-1, 4-6, 7-4 in doubles.

The Zebras have moved up from mixed tennis to all girls. Boys tennis will take place in the spring.

Golf

Tuesday Epperson shot a par 36 to lead the Zebras over Center 227-309. Kaylee Hahn fired a 42 for the No. 2 spot in helping Lincoln beat the Cougars.

Football

The Lincoln junior varsity beat Antelope 27-7 and the frosh routed Oak Ridge 34-7. Freshman Gabe Burns rambled 99 yards for a touchdown on a kickoff return.

The freshmen Zebras defeated Whitney Thursday, 28-12.

Soccer

Former Lincoln player Kara Burns made her first start in goal for California State University San Jose last week. The freshman made six saves in the second half and one overtime to preserve a draw.

Mascot

The Fighting Zebra is one of four finalists for Cal-Hi’s best mascot. The poll is on Twitter – so vote!
