Sprouts Farmers Market, which offers affordable fresh, natural and organic food, opens at 7 a.m. Wednesday in Lincoln.

The public is invited to a 7 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the 30,000-square-foot store’s opening at 115 Ferrari Ranch Road.

Grand-opening-day giveaways include:

  • The first 200 shoppers will receive 20-percent off their initial total purchase.
  • Muffin and coffee samples will be served to everyone in line before doors open.
  • Every customer will receive one free reusable bag with purchase.

As part of Sprouts’ commitment to “zero waste,” the new Lincoln Sprouts will donate unsold and edible groceries to Placer Food Bank through the grocer’s Food Rescue program. In 2017, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 23 million pounds of product, equivalent to 19-million meals, according to a Sprouts press release. Food not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities.

Headquartered in Phoenix, Sprouts operates almost 300 stores in 16 states. Sprouts includes a deli with prepared entrees and side dishes, The Butcher Shop and The Fish Market.
