To help prepare boys and girls for high school careers and beyond in basketball, the AAU feeder program Lincoln Elite Basketball will begin this summer.

Developed by Glen Edwards Middle School basketball coaches Cesar Balderas and Jason Noonan, the program is seeking future Fighting Zebras’ cagers. This summer’s program will be for boys grades four through eight (current year) and girls grades five through seven (current year) – Western Placer Unified School District students only.

There is an effort being made to expand the girls program as well.

“We hope that with our efforts, and with the help of volunteer coaches, we can put together a strong AAU program from Lincoln that will result in greater results at the middle school and high school level.” Balderas wrote.

To introduce this innovative course, a Parent Information Night has been scheduled at the Glen Edwards Spirit Center 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22. Tryout registration forms will be available that night.

Join Lincoln Elite in “Building a Foundation for Lincoln Basketball.”

This program is approved and backed by the WPUSD and district superintendent Scott Leaman.
