On October 18th and November 15th, Powerhouse Allstar Cheer, located in Folsom, CA, competed in the JAMZ and America’s Best Regional Championships in Vallejo, CA and Sacramento, CA.

This brand new team of 14 athletes did an amazing job on their inaugural performances and took home second place trophies at each competition while also earning bids to National competitions to be held in Las Vegas early 2009.

The team’s head coach Misty Wade said “Being the first AllStar squad in Folsom, which has traditionally been a football town, hasn’t been easy. The dream of three local Folsom moms that formed the team a year ago has come true with these wins behind us. We are paving the future for girls and boys in the community that want to cheer but haven’t had the opportunity to join a team. We think we’ve proven we are now a viable option and next time we are going for the 1st place trophy.”

The team works hard practicing for two hours, two times per week at Folsom Hills Elementary School. Their hard work has paid off with their solid routine and flawless execution last weekend when they received a score with no deductions. The team took home not only a trophy, but the satisfaction that Allstar cheerleading will be in Folsom for years to come.
