St. Francis beats Woodcreek 48-47 game updates
Right on schedule at Arco Arena - keep refreshing for updates as Woodcreek seeks the NorCal title.
5:31 update Spencer Britschgi missed three with three seconds left, but Patrick Crowley grabs the offensive rebound and scores at the buzzer to give St. Francis a 48-47 win. Check back later for a full game story.
5:29 p.m. update Woodcreek turnover, St. Francis timeout. Lancers ball under their basket with 12 seconds left and Woodcreek leading 47-46.
5:28 update Missed second FT. St. Francis miss, but Kurtz missed front end of one-and-one. Johnson fouled, makes one of two. Woodcreek ball with 14 seconds left, leading 47-46.
5:24 update Sondhi three puts Woodcreek up 46-45. Kurtz blocks Johnson at other end. Sondhi fouled on way to rim, hits first,then St. Francis timeout. 41 seconds left and Woodcreek leads 47-45 with one free throw to come.
5:17 p.m. update Woodcreek answers with four. Timeout St. Francis. 43-41 St. Francis with 4:23 left.
5:15 p.m. update Timeout Woodcreek with 5:25 left. St. Francis has the first four points of the fourth quarter and leads 43-37.
5:10 p.m. update St. Francis 39, Woodcreek 37 end of three periods. Ryan Milat leads the Timberwolves with 14 points, while Kurtz scored six in the third (eight in the game). Tyler Johnson scored 10 in the third for the Lancers and has 16 for the game.
5:03 p.m. update Ryan Sondhi doing a nice job breaking down the defense and Mike Kurtz picks up a couple of buckets. St. Francis leads 35-33 with 2:36 to go in the third.
4:56 update An early surge on a Ryan Milat old fashioned three-point play has been overcome by St. Francis' talented Tyler Johnson, who has nine in the third quarter. With 5:28 left in the third, St. Francis leads 34-27.
4:36 p.m. update Ryan Milat has 10 points in the first half, but the second quarter belonged to St. Francis and the game is tied 23-23 at the break. Tyler Johnson leads the Lancers with six points, and he is the real deal. So quick off the bounce - just split the Woodcreek defense for a dunk out of the half court set. He did not start, but has played about 12 of 16 minutes so far. Nik Milani and Mike Kurtz just two points each so far, with Devin Murphy having a nice half with some great defense and four points at the offensive end. Kurtz does have four blocked shots for the Timberwolves.
4:23 p.m. update Woodcreek struggling to keep St. Francis off the offensive glass. 17-14 Woodcreek with 5:24 left in the second.
4:17 p.m. update First quarter is in the books. Led by Ryan Milat's six points, three rebounds and two assists, Woodcreek leads St. Francis 15-10.
4:09 p.m. update Woodcreek leads 9-6 with 3:13 to go in the first. Ryan Milat with four points early.
