AAS racing season begins April 3
New amenities, wide variety of races
The cars have been out in force to test and tune during the March play dates at All American Speedway in Roseville, as crews and fans anxiously await the start of the 2010 season on April 3.
With the variety of racing series ready to hit the 1/3-mile asphalt short track, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Kicking off the season on will be Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Bombers. It will be the first of the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model series race.
The track will host two NASCAR K&N Pro Series races on March 27 and Oct. 16. The K&N Pro Series is NASCAR's premiere developmental series for the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup series. SRL and SRL Legends will also kick off their 2010 season at AAS on March 27.
The schedule includes more USAC Sprints and Legends races this season as open wheel racing on the paved track has become a crowd favorite. Open wheel racing begins on April 17, and will feature USAC Sprints, Legends and Vintage cars. On May 15, the Open Wheel Challenge will feature USAC Sprints, Legends and Ford Focus Midgets.
Facilities at the Speedway continue to be upgraded. Speedway CEO Joan Bartosik said a major improvement is the development of a food and entertainment pavilion in the area of the grandstands.
"We’ll have new food stands, new food offerings, your favorite beers on tap, an area to display cars, bring in a band, and many other possibilities," Bartosik said. "It will be the place to be if you aren’t in the stands, the place to celebrate after the race while you watch it on giant closed-circuit screens. Think of the facilities in other pro-sports arenas."
Local track Saturday night racing is exciting and extremely competitive at All American. It's great family entertainment for a reasonable price.
