California needs more choices

California isn’t the great state she once was because we continue to elect the wrong people to run her.

Her decline accelerated during former Governor Jerry Brown’s two terms in office. The Brown train wreck was engineered by liberals like California Transportation Chief Adriana Gianturco and Chief Justice Rose Bird but they had help.

The carnage continued with the election and eventual recall of Brown’s former right-hand man, Gray Davis, and that left us in the clumsy grasp of an inarticulate movie actor.

Today, desperate Democrats want to give Jerry Brown another crack at us, and out-of-touch Republicans think Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner feel our pain.

Are they really our best gubernatorial choices?

An old, Jesuit trained, odd ball, who nearly ruined us once before and a couple of Silicon Valley billionaires? One of whom forgets to vote and can’t remember how long she’s lived in California and the other a very rich but virtually unknown Insurance Commissioner. What a choice!

We should reject Brown for his past sins and the other two because wealth alone doesn’t deserve a vote. Let’s throw them out and start over from scratch.

Save America by voting to save California.

Richard Isherwood, Lincoln
