Play days wet appetite for new season at Speedway
If you miss the smell of burning rubber and the roar of racing engines around a 1/3-mile race track, All American Speedway is providing your auto racing fix.
All American Speedway play days are the kick-off event ot the new racing season, as then Late Models, Street Stocks, Bombers and Modifieds get dusted off to prepare for the new year, with an audience.
Fans get a chance to check out the drivers of the upcoming season as they check out their cars. Late Model driver Ron Chunn is excited to get back to racing.
“What I’m looking forward to is running some good fast times right off the trailer,” Chunn said. “We have very high expectations this year and I am looking forward to racing with what I think is the best competition in California.”
Eric Ray, who drives the No. 77 Bomber car is looking forward to the play days.
“I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel,” Ray said.
Play days at All American Speedway began last Saturday March 6 and continue for the next two Saturdays(March 13 and 20) Entrance to the grandstands are free, but pit passes can be purchased at the pit gate for those who want to be closer to the racers.
Timed sessions run from noon to 6 p.m.
The Placer County Fair administration office is open for ticket sales Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
