Downtown Lincoln merchants are prepared for area residents to show their appreciation for the special loves in their lives. Shop windows and inside store displays showcase lovely gifts and gift ideas, if lovers need encouragement.

Flowers, chocolate, beautiful cards, stuffed animals, jewelry, and romantic dinners are traditional little ways we can remember our loved ones with small tokens for how much we value them in our lives on this special day dedicated to sweethearts.

“Mother’s Day is probably our biggest holiday but Valentine’s Day is our single biggest day. It’s usually last minute with people buying the day of,” said Kylie Halcomb, floral designer at Lincoln Florist.

More untraditional ways of showing our appreciation for our lovers can be left up to anyone’s imagination with the sky the limit.

However, you decide to express your feelings for your sweetheart make sure you say, “I love you” to that special someone on Sunday.

Longtime floral designer at Lincoln Florist Jodie Cobleigh takes time to pre-make red bows out of wire ribbons, which will be used in flower arrangements for Valentine’s Day. “We like to try to do as much as we can ahead of time, making bows, tapping up vases, getting cards ready, but there is only so much we can do until the flowers arrive,” Cobleigh said.
