Annual Guns and Hoses football game

Lincoln fireman Peter Manley will play in the 35th annual Pig Bowl on Saturday, also known as the Guns and Hoses football game.

The game, a battle between police and firemen, will be played at Sacramento State University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the pre-game starts at noon. Gates open at 11 a.m.

The firemen won for the first time in seven years last year. Tickets are $10 per person and ages five-and-under are free. Proceeds benefit the Firefighters Burn Institute, Sheriff’s Toy Project, Wind Youth Services, Mustard Seed School, Volunteers in Victim Assistance Program, F.E.A.T for Autism and more.

Lincoln Youth Soccer Club meeting

The Lincoln Youth Soccer Club will hold its first Board of Directors meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the Lincoln High Library.

The Board will consider volunteers to serve in the various coordinator positions, including coach coordinator, publicity coordinator, equipment coordinator, field coordinator, and referee coordinator. California Youth Basketball League

The California Youth Basketball League is currently holding registration for the winter season.

Games begin Saturday and will run through Feb. 10 for boys and girls, ages 4-18. Registration is for both individuals and teams.
