New transit service for Western Placer
Staff report

The Placer County Transportation Planning Agency’s new Consolidated Transportation Service Agency serving western Placer County is now in effect.

Seniors First, Inc. takes over the existing non-emergency medical transportation services, vouchers and volunteer transportation programs in Placer County.

Now called the Western Placer County Transportation Services Agency, it is partly supported by healthcare community members such as Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Placer Collaborative Network and Placer Independent Resource Services.

“We are very excited to partner with Seniors First in our quest to continue to provide safe, reliable transportation services to residents of Placer County,” said Celia McAdam, executive director of the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency. “This important public/private partnership has been made possible by the collaborative effort amongst organizations that understand the critical need of serving the transportation needs of the community.”

For the last 10 years, PRIDE Industries handled the Consolidated Transportation Service Agency’s services for Western Placer County residents.

Anyone who has previously used PRIDE Industries’ services for medical related trips must now contact Seniors First, Inc. to schedule a ride on Health Express.

For more information or to schedule a ride on Health Express, call (530) 887-7433 or 1 (800) 655-7433.
