Lincoln youth soccer team wins district cup

The Lincoln F.C. won the U-14 District Cup championship at the Woodland Community Center on the same weekend as the Trouble were crowned.

Lincoln advanced to the final round by beating Prospector Autobahn United 2-1, the Vacaville United X-treme 8-5 and the Elk Grove Real Madrid 7-2.

Lincoln then beat the Azzuri Eagles 2-1 for the championship.

Ryan Longley (center fullback) led the defense in the finals while goalie Cameron Tatem was solid. Eddie Hernandez and Josh von Pohle scored Lincoln’s goals in the finals.

Hernandez and von Pohle both scored in the victory over Prospector while Hernandez (four goals), von Pohle (three goals) and Francisco Herrera (one goal) were the scorers against Vacaville.

Tatem scored twice and Hernandez, Herrera, Longley, Manuel Vazquez and von Pohle each scored once against Elk Grove in the semifinals.
