Lincoln’s Bob Zielinski and Jerry Dong helped the Lincoln Hills Coyotes win a gold medal in softball at the Huntsman World Senior Games on Friday in St. George, Utah. “It couldn’t have been more fun,” Zielinski said. Dong added that, “We had a wonderful time.” The Huntsman World Senior Games is a world-class, Olympic-format, international sporting event for athletes ages 50-and-up. Founded 23 years ago, the Games currently hosts more than 9,500 athletes annually. Each October, for two weeks, the event is held in St. George. Athletes, representing all 50 states and 20 countries, are competing in 26 sports at the Games this year. “One of the things that makes this event so unique is that it is more than just a collection of sporting events,” said Kyle Case, Huntsman World Senior Games CEO. “The Games is a total experience.” The participants enjoy the Parade of Athletes, Opening Ceremonies, social events, banquets and free health screenings, to name only a few of the additional activities that enhance the athletic experience.
