Lincoln High’s varsity girls soccer team beat visiting El Dorado 2-1 on Monday for its second Pioneer Valley League victory of the season. The Zebras (8-12-4 overall, 2-7-1 in the PVL) tied the Cougars (1-8-2 in the PVL) 0-0 when the teams met in the first round of league play. This time Lincoln got goals from Shonna Fraser and Mariel Iniguez. Both players also had an assist in the win. Goalie Kimberly Metheny was solid in front of the net. The Zebras lost 2-0 at Colfax (8-0-1) on Friday as the Falcons scored twice in the first half. Kacey Capuchino and Mathilde Bosgiraud scored for Colfax. Lincoln, which hosts Placer (6-3-1) today, will host Mesa Verde (3-6-1) at 7 p.m. Monday in the season finale. This will be Senior Night for the Zebras. Lincoln lost to Placer 3-1 and was defeated by Mesa Verde 1-0 in the first round of league action.
