Zebras’ golf moves into tie for top spot

The Lincoln High School girls golf team picked up their second Pioneer Valley League win by defeating visiting Bear River, 322-271, at Turkey Creek Golf Club, last week. Senior Jisu Yoo shot a solid 48 over nine holes to lead the Fighting Zebras. Yoo fired a 49 in an early match with Center, Lincoln’s first PVL victory. The Zebras’ 2-0 league record pulled them into a tie for the top spot with Placer. Lincoln was scheduled to play the Hillmen at Auburn Valley Country Club, Thursday. “Placer was section champs,” said Lincoln golf head coach Tim Allen. “We’ll see how the girls do on a course like (Auburn Valley) against Placer.” Golf fundraiser There is still room available for gofers in the Lincoln High School Booster Club tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Club, Sept. 30. Registration is at 11 a.m.; putting contest at 11:30, and a shotgun start begins 1:30 The entry fee for individual golfers is $150 (senior or service club $125), or a foursome for $500; the cost for dinner, only, is $35.
