Zebras’ soccer club improves to 6-2-1

The Lincoln High School varsity soccer team is now 6-2-1 after defeating Antelope on the road, Sept. 13. Senior Eddie Hernandez scored two goals. He has four goals on 33 shots this season. Junior Ryan Longley scored the other goal. It was his first goal of the season. The Fighting Zebras begin Pioneer Valley league play on Tuesday when Lincoln hosts Bear River. Cross Country The Lincoln cross-country team participated in the San Francisco (Lowell) Invitational, Sept. 17. Sophomore Kyle Ebert finished ninth for sophomore boys with a time of 12:22. Katy Mercier and Silvia Fernstrom were also medal winners in the freshmen/sophomore girls race finishing 15th (16:00) and 16th (16:00), respectively. Volleyball The Lincoln varsity volleyball team picked up three big wins this week to improve to 5-2 on the season. The Fighting Zebras’ first Pioneer Valley league game is Oct. 3, when they will travel to Bear River. Lincoln defeated Wheatland 3-2 , Sept. 13. Shelby Workman led the team with 12 kills, and Caylin Shaw scored 14 assists and 12 points.
