Youth Basketball serves 530 kids

-A +A
We just wrapped up our 2009-2010 Lincoln Youth Basketball season and had an overwhelming positive response! With over 530 participants, a total of 56 teams and seven divisions, the league was a huge success for the city of Lincoln’s recreation department. Thank you to the Western Placer Unified School District for use of facilities. School district staff played a huge part in making the league a success. Thank you to our volunteer coaches! We had over 100 volunteers who taught not only the game of basketball to our youth but provided mentorship as well. Thank you, coaches, for your time and dedication! The city of Lincoln strongly believes in the benefits of participation in organized youth sports. Participation in sports has proven to build self-esteem, promote teamwork, develop both the body and mind, and is an integral part of the developmental process. We made a lot of improvements to the league this past season and have a big list of great changes for the next upcoming 2010-2011 season. Hope to see you then!
