Recently, six Girl Scout members of Troop 1796 earned their good manners badge when they participated in a “Manners Tea Party” at the Lincoln Woman’s Club.
The troop leaders are members of Lincoln’s Woman’s Club. Tracy Brown Randall and Rhonda Workman Foster have been discussing with their troop about manners necessary to be practiced by young girls as they grow up.
The girls were dressed in their finest dresses, hats and even gloves as they arrived at the tea party. The many other scouts, their leaders and other guests of the club joined Woman’s Club members at the event.
The clubhouse was transformed into a tea house and guests enjoyed numerous tea sandwiches, scones and desserts. There were antique teapots at each table and each girl received her own tea cup and saucer to take home as a remembrance of the afternoon.
The girls and guests were welcomed by Woman’s Club President Barbara Araujo. The talented Lynette Dingman entertained the group with piano pieces and Carol Kraus shared tea party manners with the girls.
