William Jessup picks up three wins in Southland

The William Jessup University softball team played .500 ball during their six-game outing in Southern California last week. Warriors’ freshman Brittany Lamar of Manteca hit .412, including a home run, and drove in three runs. Junior teammate Andrea Lutz improved her pitching record to 6-1 adding two victories during the road trip. William Jessup wrapped up the southern swing by tripping up Vanguard University in two games, 3-1 and 4-2, In Costa Mesa, Saturday. Ranked 18th, Concordia University took two from the Warriors, 3-0 and 10-0, using solid defense on Friday. Opening their road trip, William Jessup came back in the second game to defeat Hope International University 7-3 in Fullerton, Thursday. Hope shut out the Warriors 1-0 in the opening contest.
