What inspires you to be so involved in Lincoln? “It’s fun, actually, and I like knowing people, and I like knowing a lot of different people. Tim (her district manager) promotes that (being involved in the community). He likes that I’m involved, which is one of the reasons that I got this store. I could put a positive face for Starbucks out there.” What do you like about living in Lincoln? “I love the community, I love the downtown. I like the history and the cool buildings. (Lincoln has) the convenience of what I need, the essentials. I think it has a nice downtown feel and I like the fact that we do celebrations.” What do you like about working for Starbucks? “I love the culture, the people and, of course, I love our product. Mostly (I love) the people and serving them, and it’s upbeat and fast-paced.” What is your favorite place to go on vacation? “I like anything with beach and water. We usually go to Santa Barbara because that’s where family is. Jim’s folks are down there. I just like the beach; I enjoy relaxing and being outside (with) a book.” What do you like to read? “I just finished all the Twilight books, I like fantasy. I’ll just pick and read whatever. I don’t have all that much time to read, but I enjoy it.” What did you and your kids do for Halloween? “We had a great trick or treat, we were out for hours. We went with friends and did our neighborhood and went over to (another neighborhood.) It was a really fun night, we trick or treated for three hours. I was Cleopatra, Izzy was a little devil and Sam was a Jamaican business guy. He wore a tie with dreads. There were quite a few houses that had done it up and scared people. ” Do you have any hobbies? “I like to craft, (like) do art things and draw. I’ve done big mosaics that are permanent in my yard. I’d never done a mosaic before and I built it right into the patio last summer and it turned out well, thank goodness! It’s four feet by four feet, it’s huge and it’s actually pretty cool.” If you would like to see a neighbor or friend featured here, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call Stephanie Dumm at 774-7967.
