Warriors split; knock off 24th ranked CSU-San Marcos

Coming off a big win over California State University-San Marcos, William Jessup University mens basketball team lost its momentum and fell to CSU-Maritime, 74-52, in Vallejo. Senior Marqus Crawford led the Warriors with 19 points and eight rebounds, and junior Jordan Wilson added 10 points. Last week, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ 24th ranked San Marcos Cougars were shocked by William Jessup, 67-61. Senior Anthony Anderson of Roseville poured in 19 points to lead the Warriors, and Crawford followed up with 15. Senior Preston Bramow, also of Roseville, had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. William Jessup is 1-2 in the California Pacific Conference play, and 6-12 overall. The Warriors host Simpson University tonight, and travel to Angwin to take on Pacific Union College, Saturday. Womens Basketball A cold-shooting Saturday night allowed CSU-Maritime to defeat William Jessup, 72-46, in the Lady Warriors only game last week. Senior Maria Viola and sophomore Brittany Smith led William Jessup with 10 points apiece.
