Lincoln’s annual Veterans Day celebration is set for 11:11 a.m. Wednesday at the Veterans Memorial Hall. Originally known as Armistice Day, the Nov. 11 celebration is always at 11:11 a.m. because it is the time and date of the signing of the documents ending World War I, according to Ken Parsell, a Veterans of Foreign Wars member. The local American Legion Post, the Semper Fi organization and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post will sponsor the event. The joint unit Honor Guard will fire a volley. Cake and coffee will be served afterward. The Veteran’s Memorial Hall is at 541 Fifth St. in Lincoln. For more information, call Ken Parsell at 434-6648.
