Thunder Valley to hire 600

Thunder Valley is looking to hire 600 staff for their new hotel and expanded casino. The hotel is slated to open July 2010, according to Thunder Valley Casino’s public information officer Doug Elmets. There will be nearly 200 positions in the hotel and spa, and 400 positions in casino operations, according to Elmets. “We are incredibly excited to be able to create over 600 new jobs for the local community,” said Jessica Tavares, chairwoman of the United Auburn Community. “At a time when there is so much bad news about the economy, we believe our new hotel, spa and expanded casino will continue to be an economic engine for this region.” Elmets said “available positions range from entry level to managerial,” and will be hourly and salaried, “with shifts available 24 hours a day.” Interviews will start this month.Elmets said that “Thunder Valley hopes to complete the initial phase of hiring by May 15. More than half of the positions will be full time, which will include dental, vision and health benefits, with paid time off. Part-time employees will qualify for paid time off and those 21-years-old and older will be eligible for Thunder Valley’s 401K plan, according to Elmets.
