Thanks for the funds and help

The Friends of the Lincoln Library send a huge thank you to the Lincoln Host Lions Club. In May, members picked up books and trucked them to three schools on six days. Then members from both of the Lincoln Lions Clubs presented 2,000 books to the students, preschool through fifth grade. The Host Lions and the Friends, together, funded this program. Lacking people to help move books out for the big sale in June, the Lions were asked to help, help came and the Friends raised $1,100 for programs. The 11th and last session of Books in the Courtyard saw Lion members once again come in early for four weeks to move books, chairs, tables and signs at 7 a.m. and then again at noon. A thank you goes to the Lincion Community Foundation, the Compass Bank, Lincoln Host Lions Club and the members of Friends of the Library for funding Books in the Courtyard to the tune of 1,700 books. Through the efforts of others, the Friends provided 3,700 books to children to give them a boost to reading during the summer. Shirley Russell, Friends of the Lincoln Library book chairwoman
