Plan to get out this summer and enjoy the weather. This summer provides a chance to explore Lincoln and try new things. Explore one of Lincoln's parks. With many parks and growing, Lincoln parks offer opportunities to picnic, play sports or burn off energy on play structures. For a list of all parks, go online at Take a walk or ride your bike on the city's bike trails. The city has numerous miles of trails to take advantage during cool evenings or on Spare the Air days. Attend the Fourth of July Festival on Friday, July 4 at McBean Park. Begin your day with a pancake breakfast and the Annual Fourth of July Parade. Stay all afternoon and eat great food, listen to fantastic bands and have your kids participate in the Kids Zone. End the day with a spectacular display of fireworks. Cool off at McBean Pool. McBean Pool opens June 9. Children can learn to swim and participate in the Lincoln Lightning Swim Team. Adults can lap swim, take a water aerobics class or an adult swim class.
