Soroptimists of Lincoln, Roseville present annual awards

Soroptimists International of Lincoln and Roseville joined forces once again to present annual awards on March 15 at the Orchard Creek Lodge in Lincoln Hills. The “President’s Passion” award was presented to the Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center. The Violet Richardson award is given to a 14- to 17-year-old female who donates her time to worthy causes. The Lincoln club’s winner was Samantha Linhardt, who devotes her spare time to Ride to Walk and the Placer SPCA. The Women’s Opportunity Award is given to a woman who is the primary source of financial support for her family and needs assistance to improve education and employment prospects. The winner was Lorry Holt-Minton. The Ruby Award goes to women who have worked in extraordinary ways to benefit women and girls. Three winners from the Lincoln club include Nancie Wiseman, who donates time teaching sewing in the Marysville prison, and Sandy Frame and Cindy Moore for their Sun City Helps Our Outstanding Local Schools program.
