ANTELOPE _ The Lincoln High girls basketball team couldn’t find the firepower to defeat Center a second time as the Fighting Zebras fell to the Cougars 52-31, Friday. Sarah Dargan had an outstanding night scoring 18, but her teammates could only manage 13. Lincoln also couldn’t contain Center on defense as it did in their first meeting winning 36-33. Senior point guard Liz Magana scored five in the contest and Cassandra Jaimes finished with four. Bear River _ The week didn’t start any better than it finished as the Bruins defeated Lincoln 54-31, Feb. 1. Jaimes and Magana were able to find their ranges scoring 13 and 12 respectively, but Bear River was a too much for the Zebras’ defense to handle. Lincoln has just three games remaining in the regular season. They were scheduled to take on Foothill at home Wednesday and travel to Placer for a game Friday. The Zebras will close out their 2011-2012 campaign at home against Pioneer Valley League leader Colfax, Feb. 15. In the Sac-Joaquin Section Power Ratings Lincoln was ranked 24th in Division III. The top 16 teams qualify to compete. Colfax and Bear River (No. 2 in the PVL) are rated No. 1 and No. 5 respectively in the power ratings for Division IV.
