Salt Mine thanks residents for successful food drives

-A +A
The Salt Mine wishes to congratulate, and thank, the people of Lincoln for two fabulous food drives back-to-back! The Lincoln Library and the people of Lincoln conducted a “food for fines” project that brought in 6,000 pounds of food! This was a great idea and the food came at a time when The Salt Mine needed it the most. Then, this past weekend, the Lincoln Post Office and local letter carriers conducted their annual canned -food drive and it too went over the top. Lincoln letter carriers collected more food than any other city in Placer County. Their 6,500 pounds of food, added to the library’s food, will help families of Lincoln for several months. The Salt Mine cannot adequately express our gratitude to the people of Lincoln for all their kind and generous giving. At a time when so many are in need, it is great to see so many helping. Thank you. Eric Long of The Salt Mine, Lincoln
