The Lincoln Area Archives Museum will host a presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday featuring the life of Joel Parker Whitney, once the wealthiest man in Placer County. A 19th century entrepreneur and conservationist, Whitney owned the 20,000-acre Spring Valley Ranch in the Twelve Bridges area near the southern boundary of Lincoln. Here, Archives docent Jalna Marcovici holds a winged statuette from the Whitney mansion, on loan from the collection of Evelyn Procissi. The presentation, given by Rocklin historian Alfred Corral is free but limited to 25 participants. RSVP at 645-3800.
