It was made official May 4-5 as California High School Rodeo Association District 3 closed out its regular rodeo season at the Lincoln Arena.

Two familiar faces, Cheyanne Carpenter and Clayton Brum, received their saddles for All Around performances for both cowgirls and cowboys. The easy-in-the-saddle duo are multiple All Around winners, including last year.

Carpenter, a senior, earned 789.5 points competing all year in barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, cutting and team-roping header.

“The past four years of high school rodeo, on top of the three years before that of junior high rodeo, have definitely been seven years that I will never forget,” said Carpenter. “As I reflect upon the past seven years, I wouldn't change a single moment if I could.”

Brum tallied 792 points participating in saddle bronc riding, bull riding, cutting and header in team roping. The junior should be back next year to perhaps add another saddle to his growing collection.

Reserved All-Around Cowboy was Clayton Biglow and Katie Rice was Reserved All-Around Cowgirl. Rookie Cowboy went to Cody Buchanan and Molly Sparrowk was named Rookie Cowgirl.
