Sierra Valley Division

At Roseville High School – Hanson Field

Del Oro Jr. Golden Eagles win 3-of-5 championships - Midget, Pee Wee and Jr. Pee Wee.

 

2009 SYFC Midget Champions – Del Oro Jr. Golden Eagles

Del Oro 22, American River 16
With a season record of 11-0, the Jr. Golden Eagles scored 315 points in 11 games while only allowing 48 points total.  During the regular season, they were scored on once (eight points).  Their margin of victory in playoffs was 70-40.  The Midget team was the third Del Oro team to win the championship this season.

 

2009 SYFC Jr. Midget Champions – Folsom Jr. Bulldogs

Folsom 28, Roseville 6

The Folsom defense dominated Roseville from start to finish in avenging a 30-0 regular season setback at the hands of the Jr. Tigers

 

2009 SYFC Pee Wee Champions – Del Oro Jr. Golden Eagles

Del Oro 16, Oak Ridge 8   
They finish the 2009 season at 8-3.  As the fourth seed in the playoffs, the Jr. Golden Eagles upset both No. 1 seed American River in the first round and third seed Oak Ridge in the championship.

 

2009 Jr. Pee Wee Champions – Del Oro Jr. Golden Eagles

Del Oro 38, American River 24
The Jr. Golden Eagles pull off the season upset in the championship game becoming the first Del Oro team to win their championship game Saturday.  They complete a 9-2 season.

 

2009 Mighty Mite Champions – Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans

Oak Ridge 20, Folsom 13
The first upset of the day went to the Jr. Trojans as they beat No. 1 seed Folsom.  As the third seed in the playoffs, Oak Ridge captured upsets in both rounds beating second seed Woodcreek in round one.  They complete a 9-2 season.

 

Sierra Foothill Division

At Bear River High School

Ponderosa Jr. Bruins win 3-of-5 Championships - Midget, Jr. Midget and Pee Wee.

2009 SYFC SFD Midget Champions – Ponderosa Jr. Bruins

Ponderosa 8, Foothill 6

The Jr. Bruins complete a perfect 9-0 season, avoiding an upset by third seed Foothill.  They complete a three-level championship run in the Sierra Foothill Division.

 

2009 SYFC SFD Jr. Midget Champions – Ponderosa Jr. Bruins

Ponderosa 16, Natomas 8
Another Ponderosa team finishes perfect at 9-0.

 

2009 SYFC SFD Pee Wee Champions – Ponderosa Jr. Bruins

Ponderosa 26, Foothill 6
The first Ponderosa team of the 2009 season to finish in a perfect season at 9-0. 

 

2009 SYFC SFD Jr. Pee Wee Champions – Natomas Jr. Nighthawks

Natomas 25, Foothill 0
The Jr. Nighthawks had the only shutout championship victory of the 2009 SYFC playoffs.  They complete an 8-1 season as the top ranked team.

2009 SYFC SFD Mighty Mite Champions – Whitney Jr. Wildcats

 

Whitney 14, Nevada Union 6
The Jr. Wildcats become the only Whitney team to complete both an undefeated season at 9-0 and take the championship.
