The Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) will host its third community meeting on Wednesday, April 24 to discuss odors and other operational issues of importance to residents.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the authority’s offices at 3033 Fiddyment Road, located at the corner of Athens Avenue in Roseville.
The Western Placer Waste Management Authority is a joint powers authority comprised of Placer County and the cities of Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville. The authority owns and operates the landfill, Material Recovery Facility, and compost facility located in south Placer County.
Over the past two years, the Western Placer Waste Management Authority has conducted community meetings to discuss its operations and regional odor conditions with residents.
April’s meeting will include updates on the authority’s operations and planned projects for reducing the effects of facility odors on the surrounding community.
“We look forward to continuing our dialogue with the community and are excited about the improvements we have planned that will help us identify and better manage odors from our facility,” said Western Placer Waste Management Authority’s executive director Jim Durfee. “We encourage our neighbors to attend the meeting, talk with staff and give us their feedback.”
