Raising money for suicide prevention

Second annual Mud Run
-A +A

The second annual Mud Run on June 22 will raise funds to help educate and provide resources for suicide prevention.

“Every fifteen minutes, someone commits suicide. Within a three-month period, the Lincoln community suffered the loss of three young men. There’s been a rippling effect ever since,” according to the Mud Run website.

The event is hosted by the Whalen, Waterlyn and Aguilar families; presented by Gold’s Gym and sponsored by the Lincoln Rotary Foundation.

Pre-register now for the Mud Run for Life at mudrun4life.org.

The Mud Run will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at 4306 Wise Road in Lincoln.

Cost to run is $25 for a single runner and $100 for a family (up to six family members) $50 for team runners (up to five team members) or $100 for team runner (up to 10 team members).

Individual “mud-free” spectators cost $5 or $20 for a “mud-free” family (up to six members).

A business booth is available for a $100 fee. The business name will appear on a T-shirt and website if signed up by June 15. All businesses register via e-mail to mudrun4life@gmail.com.

Donations are also needed. Organizers also need to borrow generators for power. Cash/credit donations can be made through the website at mud-run-4-life.org.
