The Lincoln Little League Phillies served notice they intended to stay atop the Majors standings by shutting out the Rangers 16-0 Thursday night at McBean Park.

The decisive blow came in the top of the fourth inning when Ty Williams cleared the bases with a shot over the center-field fence for a grand slam. Williams ended the night with a total of six runs batted in.

Connor Manley and Brennan Rozell combined to give up just one hit on the evening. Manley surrendered a double to the Rangers’ Aiden Isola.

The win improved the Phils’ record to 4-0 on the season and gave them a full-game cushion over the second-place Braves.
