Lincoln resident Bob Birdseye plans to present the City Council Tuesday with a petition requesting the removal of City Manager Jim Estep and Assistant Manager/Chief Financial Officer Anna Jatczak. “When Mr. Estep told the Sacramento Bee that most cities would be happy to find $3 million dollars, that was like him telling us Lincolnites we should be happy that we caught his error," Birdseye said. "He shouldn’t be making $3 million dollar errors given what we pay him. He needs to go and take Ms. Jatczak with him. If Joiner, Cosgrove and Short don’t act, we’ll recall them, too.” The petition is being signed by other Lincoln residents. Birdseye is demanding removal of the two top city managers for cause by Feb. 8. The petition says that failure to remove the two city managers will result in a recall of Mayor Paul Joiner and City Councilmen Tom Cosgrove and Spencer Short. The request for removal of Estep and Jatczak was revealed in a press release distributed this weekend. Tuesday’s City Council meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at McBean Pavilion, located at 65 McBean Park Drive. -staff report
