Old Fruitvale School and Community Hall hosts fundraiser

-A +A
The non-profit Old Fruitvale School and Community Hall is hosting an outdoor tri-tip barbecue dinner and celebrity chef dessert auction fundraiser at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 at 3425 Fruitvale Road in rural Lincoln. Other activities will include door prizes, a silent auction and introduction and signing of the recently published Old Fruitvale School Cookbook – Our Local Families’ Favorite Recipes. Built in the late 1880s, Fruitvale School and Community Hall is the only remaining one-room schoolhouse in Western Placer County with an active Living History program. It is also used for community club meetings and is available for family event rental. With no permanent source of funding, proceeds earned from this annual event help the all-volunteer group pay for insurance and maintenance to keep the historical building available for community use. Call 554-7012 to purchase dinner tickets – this event sells out quickly. Adult tickets cost $15 in advance (or $18 at the door) and children 10 and younger are $7. Tickets also are available at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
