Oakmont's Kuresa, former T-wolves Black and Wolford drafted

Oakmont High first baseman Tyler Kuresa was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 11th round of the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday. The Viking star has signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at the University of Oregon beginning next season, and will now decide between those two options. Former Woodcreek High and Woodcreek Little League star Danny Black was also selected Tuesday. The infielder who is currently a junior at the University of Oklahoma was taken in the 14th round by the Florida Marlins. Black plays in the NCAA Super Regional round this weekend, as he and his Sooner teammates try to win a best-of-three with Virginia to earn a spot in the College World Series. Another former Timberwolf, Daniel Wolford, was also taken in the fourth round Tuesday, as Cal senior Daniel Wolford was selected by the Cincinnati Reds.
