No one was hurt during two related afternoon structure fires Oct. 4. A detached garage behind 790 C St. and the belongings inside were considered a total loss, and a motorcycle and boat outside were damaged for one residence, Lincoln Fire Department Battalion Chief Tolan Dworak said Oct. 5. Dworak said tenants Cindy and Ryan Brinkman were moving out. The department has not determined the origin or the cause of the fire. Nineteen personnel on six trucks from Lincoln Fire, Cal Fire and Rocklin Fire Department extinguished the fire. A second fire started at 881 D St. north of the first location as a result of embers from the first fire and burning vegetation. A storage building on the property was destroyed but some of the contents were saved. The detached garage in the alleyway behind 790 C St. adjacent to 8th Street was fully involved in fire and power lines were down when firefighters arrived, Dworak said. Seat cushions inside the boat in front melted. The motorcycle in back was damaged. Dworak said a house across the alley at 357 8th St. sustained minor exterior damage and radiant heat melted the blinds inside a bedroom, but the home was declared structurally sound.
