News regarding Noah Webster

-A +A

Lincoln resident Jeri Chase Ferris received great news from her Houghton Mifflin editor.

Chase Ferris’ latest book, “Noah Webster & His Words,” was recently named winner of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators’ Golden Kite Award for nonfiction.

The Golden Kite Awards and Honors are given each year to the most outstanding children’s books published during the previous year, and written or illustrated by Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators members.

“This is a very prestigious national award, with 2,000 entries in the nonfiction category. SCBWI will fly me to the national conference for speaking appearances and to accept the award,” Chase Ferris said. “Each book will now carry the Golden Kite seal.”

The conference is this August in Los Angeles.
