New arts group is promising

-A +A
Hats off to Jean Cross and the new coalition of Lincolnites who are making every effort possible to reorganize the local art community. Left in dismay with the sudden, previously unannounced closure of Lincoln Arts, this very energetic group of artists, as well as other supporters, are presently engaged in forming a totally new nonprofit entity that will be known as Art League of Lincoln (ALL). This newly formed group will be led by an appointed board of directors, with a vow to its membership of a total transparent operation. Secondly, it is proposed that a membership vote will be required in selecting the governing board. With most new groups, securing a membership and other financial support are of utmost importance. I therefore urge every able-bodied supporter of art in the community to jump on the bandwagon, either as a signed member or by pledging a monetary donation to the Art League of Lincoln. Additionally, any small business and larger corporate contributions will be gratefully accepted. As they are in the primary stages of development, there are immediate plans being made for membership drives and other fundraising events. Please help in any way possible, as a member, a financial contributor or even as a volunteer to help preserve the art culture of our community and a “Feats of Clay” type event in the city of Lincoln forever. You can contact jean, with your intentions to help and for updated information. On behave of the Art League of Lincoln, whose motto will be ALL 4 ART, I thank you in advance. R.J. Blackford, Lincoln
