Nelson Lane home burns to ground

An abandoned home on Nelson Lane burned to the ground Monday night. The double-wide mobile home was located between Nicolaus Road and Moore Rood. The home’s estimated value is $80,000 for the home itself and $20,000 for contents inside the home, according to Chelsea Fox, a spokeswoman for Cal Fire. Fire crews responded to the blaze after it was called in at 6:55 p.m. Monday, according to Fox. No one was inside the 1600 square foot house, according to Fox, and there were no injuries. The fire was contained as of 7:42 p.m. Monday. Agencies responding to the fire included the Lincoln Fire Department, Cal Fire, Placer County Fire, and the Rocklin and Wheatland Fire Departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation as of press time.
