River Legacy Living Science Center naturalist Teddy Dillingham is one of 20 educators nationwide to receive the inaugural Chevrolet GREEN Educator Award presented by Earth Force and the GM Foundation. According to the Earth Force announcement, Dillingham was selected for this award because she “exemplifies the very best of what educators are doing to teach young people to lead efforts to protect our environment.” Dillingham joined the Science Center team of naturalists in 2010 and has developed curricula for seventh- and eighth-grade summer classes and a Cub Scout badge program. Currently, Dillingham is River Legacy’s coordinator in implementing a new GREEN program and the Earth Force Process for Arlington (Texas) Independent School District’s seventh-graders, in partnership with Arlington’s General Motors operation. Dillingham is a 1997 Lincoln High School graduate. Her parents are Mary and Olen Dillingham of Lincoln. Organized in 1988, River Legacy Foundation preserves and enhances the forest floodplain along the banks of the Trinity River and its tributaries as a natural, educational and recreational resource. ~ Staff report
