May Days bring art to Wardrobe

Wednesday mornings in May, from 10:30 a.m. until noon, local residents are invited to Historic Downtown Lincoln for a series of events featuring Lincoln artists. These events will be held on the patio at Wardrobe in the back of the store, 660 Fifth St. Light refreshments will be served. There is no charge to attend the following events. Reserve early as seating space is limited. Call Kathy Dorsey at 645-0660 for reservations. n May 7 – Gail Blask, “Memories…what are you doing with yours?” – Blask will offer a hands-on scrap-booking class designed to show you how to preserve and celebrate your precious memories for a lifetime. As an independent consultant for Close To My Heart, Blask will have a selection of albums, papers, inks and accessories to help you create unforgettable layouts, cards and fun projects. n May 14 – Jan Stephens, “Enhancing your surroundings” – Stephens, owner of J Stephens designs, is a certified interior design specialist, staging specialist and color consultant who has more than 30 years in the home furnishing industry. For today’s event, Stephens will focus on silk floral design and demonstrate how you can create beautiful displays for your home. n May 21 – Lincoln Poetry Class, “The Art of Poetry” – Poets from the Lincoln Poetry Class, led by Sue Clark, will be on hand to discuss poetry and read some of their poems. Additionally, there will be artistically framed poems on display. This is a great chance to learn more about poetry and even take away copies of poems from Lincoln’s finest literary artists. n May 28 – Sun City Lincoln Hills Wearable Arts group – “Fashion Pizzaz!” – Jane Denlo, Bonnie Dunlap, Cathie Szabo, Jo Quirarte and Bettie Franke will show ways to give your wardrobe extra pizzaz with beads and other embellishments. They will also show how to design silk scarves.
