In the second game of the season, the Lincoln High baseball team out-hit and out-pitched visiting Sacramento coasting to an 11-1 victory on Thursday.

On the mound for the Zebras was Julio Martinez, who surrendered three hits and struck out 10 in five innings of work.

In relief of Martinez, Chris Rodrigues struck out two batters of his own, bringing Lincoln’s strikeout total to 12.

Lincoln’s offense backed up their pitcher’s performance immediately scoring five runs on five hits in the first inning.

Lincoln ended the game with Mitch McGuire hitting a sacrifice fly to bring in Ethan Liddle to invoke the 10-run rule.

The Fighting Zebras will stay at home for next week’s game with Folsom March 5.
