Make ice rink out of former market

-A +A
I agree completely with the letter to the editor in the Feb. 18 News Messenger (page A5, “Why not turn market into skating rink?”) pertaining to using the old Rainbow Market site as an ice rink. I have a grandson and great grandson who play hockey. I have discovered there are many of our young people who also play and many who enjoy the recreation of ice-skating. The nearest ice rink is Roseville SkateLand. Ice skating is a recreation that the children of our community are able to participate in throughout the year. Who knows, Lincoln could be represented in the next Olympics! An ice rink would certainly be more affordable and profitable, rather than having more beautiful buildings that stand unoccupied.
