The Lincoln Little League Majors have played 14 games and already have seven home runs in the scorebook. The Padres’ Gregory Pallas has launched two out of the park so far this season and teammate Joseph Flores joins five others who have hit one each. The Rangers Leo Martinez and Lee Michaelson have combined to put two into the bleachers for the Texas team. Standing alone are Cole Cavarra (Red Sox) and James Sweet (Giants), but their dingers have come for two of the league’s top teams. The Giants are at the top of the standings with two wins and a tie; the Red Sox are in third with a win, loss, and tie. The Padres are getting the most for their efforts with one win and no losses. They’re a half game back of the Giants but aren’t scheduled to face the boys from the bay until the end of April. A lot could change by then. The Rangers’ power at the plate has come up a run short in both of its losses. One of those defeats came at the hands of the Giants. The Red Sox have put up 27 runs in just two games and they’ve done it with just one home run to the club’s credit.
